All serious fabric suppliers understand that the fabric must be prepared for print (PFP).
In terms of polyester, prepared for print means that the fabric has been washed free of oil and contains no added softeners. PFP also includes heat fixation in the required width.
scan htp has strict testing standards. We will not print on fabric that is not properly prepared for print.
How do we test whether the fabric is prepared for print?
We test each fabric before using it. It is about creating a good and beautiful print of course … but the main reason is actually taking care of our machinery. If we run oil-containing fabric through the calender, we risk wrecking it.
Our operators have many years’ experience and will probably detect at a glance if the fabric is not ready for the scheduled print. However, systematic testing gives us the peace of mind to proceed and has and important side benefit of contributing to our product development.
