Our customers’ qualifications and requirement vary a lot when it comes to buying fabric. You may have a good reason to buy and deliver your fabric yourself, but in many cases, you will save time and energy letting us buy your fabric for you.
What are the most important elements of buying fabric?
First of all, it is of course essential that the fabric is ”Prepared For Print” and fulfil whichever specifications you have require, i.e. that it is pure polyester. The fabric must also be lint-free.
Please note that the delivery time and consistency of supply vary from one country to another. It is important to keep one step ahead of delivery terms to avoid unpleasant surprises as you go along and perhaps risk postponing the rest of your production.
scan htp is happy to recommend good and reliable fabric suppliers for your project, and we will also assist you with testing and quality checks whenever you need it.
Fabric does not have to be the bottleneck in your textile project
It is such a shame when the designers have done their magic, printers are ready and the sewing factory is eagerly waiting to engage, but the fabric does not show up as expected.
scan htp has come to know quite a lot of high-quality and reliable fabric suppliers, and we always have our finger on the pulse of the market to detect new suppliers. We find many of our suppliers in Europe. European connections naturally provides logistic advantages for us, but in addition, we also experience a set of norms with our European neighbours that is a lot like our own.
When we buy fabric for you
The main difference between buying fabric yourself and leaving it to us is the risk. When we buy, we take full responsibility and vouch for the quality of the fabric.
We will of course examine the fabric to verify that it is Prepared For Print and meets our specifications to make sure that the roll in question is suitable for print. If we are dealing with a polyester blend like polyester and elastane, we will examine the whereabouts of the elastane in the construction of the fabric. Perhaps the fabric is less likely to bleed on one side of the fabric and therefore fine for print on that side. We will test the fabric to be sure we end up with a good result.
In addition, we make a print sample on pure polyester to ensure that your print is the same on each roll. This is of course crucial when you combine fabric from separate rolls in one collection. We guarantee the same printed fabric when you reorder.
Avoid waste – buy only the metres you actually need
When scan htp is in charge of buying fabric for your project, possible waste metres are at our expense. You do not have to buy large parties of different fabric that you do not need to create your planned collection or you special product.
Should the fabric despite all tests turn out to be faulty, and we made the deal, it is of course our responsibility to find a solution with the supplier or get hold of a new delivery that meet the requirements of your project.
